Two bomb attacks in volatile parts of northern Iraq killed at least 15 people on Saturday and wounded 37, police said, interrupting a relatively peaceful start to the Ramadan fast.
In one attack, a suicide bomber drove a car packed with explosives and rockets into the main gate of a police station on the outskirts of Shirqat, a town 300 km (190 miles) north of Baghdad, at about 8 a.m. (0500 GMT), police said.
Police opened fire to stop him but he detonated the load, killing at least nine people and wounding 17.Four of those killed in the attack were police. The blast also damaged more than a dozen shops, two dozen cars and left a 2-metre-wide (7-foot) crater in the road, a Reuters reporter saw.
Glaring at the wreckage, an old man cried out: "Shame on them! Why must they do something like this during Ramadan?"Ahmed Mehdi, 35, said he lost a cousin in the blast. "What did these innocent people do to deserve to be killed like this?" he said. "Whoever did this does not fear God. Most of the people killed here were civilians."
Later, a truck bomb parked beside a market killed six people and wounded 20 in the town of Sinjar, 390 km (240 miles) northwest of Baghdad. Sinjar is mostly inhabited by Yazidis, members of a pre-Islamic Kurdish sect.
At least 21 people were killed in two suicide attacks in Sinjar earlier this month, part of a wave of violence that has hit ethnically and religiously mixed northern Nineveh province where tension is high between majority Arabs, ethnic Kurds and other minorities. Iraq is struggling to heal the scars of years of sectarian slaughter and an insurgency triggered by the 2003 U.S.-led invasion that rendered the country practically ungovernable. But a rash of violence in the past two months has raised doubts about whether Iraq's security gains over the past two years will hold up, including truck bomb attacks that killed almost 100 people at two government ministries on Aug. 19.
The Shi'ite Muslim-led government, looking towards a general election in January, wants to show Iraqis that it is on top of the security situation as U.S. troops prepare to withdraw gradually by the end of 2011.

With less than one week before the start of this years Nokia World in Stuttgart, Germany, Nokia has officially announced its new Maemo-based next generation Internet Tablet. The N900 isn't Nokia's first Internet Tablet (770, N800, N810), but it is the companies first that also includes a GSM and 3G/UMTS modem, making it a fully fledged smartphone. Previous models could only connect to the Internet via the built-in Wi-Fi connection or via a Bluetooth link to another mobile phone.
The N900 "mobile computer" will feature version 5 of the Linux-based Maemo operating system, codenamed Fremantle. Its dimensions are similar to that of Nokia's Symbian based N97 mobile phone and it will include an ARM Cortex-A8 processor running at 600 MHz, up to 1GB of application memory (256 MB RAM, 768 MB virtual memory) and 3D graphics accelerator with OpenGL ES 2.0 support.
As with Nokia's previous internet tablets, the N900 will include 802.11 B /G Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, but will also pack 32 GB of built-in storage, with an option to add a Micro SDHC card up to 16 GB in size for a total of 48 GB. Other notable features include a 5 megapixel camera, a 3.5" 800 x 480 touch screen and integrated GPS navigation. Unlike Apple's iPhone OS, the N900 supports Adobe Flash in its Mozilla-based Maemo web browser.
The Nokia N900 will reportedly go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2009 in select markets for around 500. More details about the new smartphone can be found on the N900 web page and a short video is also available from NokiaConversations on YouTube.

roti canai...
mee goreng...
nasi goreng....
teh tarik....24 hours..
hehe. This is the place i always go since i live in Kingfisher. Not because the food is delicious, but it is just because it is 24 hours
restoran. Why i say so? In university, there are a lot of assignments and projects. When you are hungry in midnight, where are u going to find your food? It will be more
convenient if you just go to there to order roti canai and teh tarik rather than cook yourself in kitchen.By the way, you still can enjoy television program while eating to release tension add-up by assignments. That's why
UMS students those live in Kingfisher like to go there...
